SATURDAY: 150 Kids Saddle Up For Safety at San Diego’s Largest Bike Rodeo Bike Coalition brings two-wheeled carnival to school parking lot WHAT: More than 150 elementary school students and their families are ready to master the bicycle skills needed to go from pedaling novice to cycling extraordinaire. At the sixth annual Lakeside Elementary Bike Rodeo, the San Diego Bike Coalition, school staff and community volunteers will teach hands-on bike safety amidst a carnival of food, games and music. WHY: The San Diego Bike Coalition recognizes that people only ride bikes when they feel safe on their streets. By educating and empowering even San Diego’s youngest riders, the Bike Coalition builds a confident generation on two wheels that can pedal us toward a more bike-friendly future.
