About the project
The Howard – Orange Bikeway is one of six segments planned as part of the 13-mile North Park | Mid-City Bikeways. The proposed project would provide bikeways on existing urban roadways in the North Park and Mid-City (City Heights) communities of the City of San Diego, and also connect to adjacent Uptown and Eastern communities. The purpose of the proposed project is to make it more convenient, attractive, and safe for people to ride bikes. The proposed project also would benefit people who walk and drive by making roadways safer for all users.

About the meeting
This open house and public hearing marks an important step for the Howard – Orange Bikeway project. SANDAG, as the lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), will hold a public hearing to hear comments on the proposed project. The public hearing will be held from 6:45 to 8 p.m. and will be preceded by an open house from 6 to 6:45 p.m. showcasing project features and updates.

During the open house portion of the meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to talk with project team members and provide feedback. The SANDAG Transportation Committee is anticipated to consider whether the proposed project is exempt from CEQA at its September 15, 2017 meeting. Comments collected at the public hearing and open house and written responses to those comments will be provided to the Transportation Committee for its consideration before their September 15, 2017 meeting.
