San Diego Bike Coalition to partner with KCicletas for second annual community bike festival
Bike ride ending at Chicano Park to explore bike culture
WHAT: To kick off the second annual Bike to Art event, families will embark on a bike ride from King Chavez Elementary School to Chicano Park, ending at a community festival celebrating all things bikes. Families can peruse a variety of bike-inspired artwork as well as take part in bike repair and safety classes to learn how to care for and safely use their two-wheeled companions.
This is a collaboration event with the San Diego Bike Coalition and KCicletas, a grassroots cycling club that teaches bike handling, maintenance and safety out of the King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools network.
WHY: According to the San Diego Bike Coalition and KCicletas, Logan Heights and local community residents should feel empowered to ride bikes as a safe, healthy and fun form of everyday transportation. The second annual Bike to Art event will celebrate the joys of bicycling with a free, family-friendly festival for all to enjoy.
